Although when you say Ferrari you think almost immediately at Formula 1, you should know that the Italian brand from Maranello fought hard with the Americans from Ford for victory in the legendary endurance race at Le Mans in the ’60s.
For a while, however, the Italians concentrated their efforts on Formula 1, but that does not mean Prancing Horse’s fans have forgotten the brand history.
Ferrari participates in endurance racing for years. Even in the 2014 edition of the famous 24-hour race at Le Mans, the Ferrari 458 Italia won LMGTE Pro class. But, however, the name Ferrari is lacking in top class called LMP1 (Le Mans Prototype 1), where Audi has made the law in recent years.
True, the Italians are thinking ahead while returning endurance competitions, but nothing happened yet in that direction. Now, however, the young Italian designer Daniele Pelligra put on paper a concept of LMP1 seater that looks simply amazing.
Of course, the chances for this supercar to ever becoming reality is almost zero, but we can only dream that maybe, at some point, Ferrari will complete the LMP1 class at Le Mans with Audi, Porsche and Toyota.
